Pendle & Rossendale, UK – Positive Action in the Community (PAC) is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded funding from The National Lottery to support its transformative “Be Free” project. This initiative, which aligns with PAC’s vision of creating a community where everyone can live a safe, aspirational, and fulfilled life, will focus on empowering survivors of domestic abuse, supporting their long-term recovery, and enhancing mental health and well-being. This project will also offer additional specialist interventions addressing additional adversities faced by Older People, Young People and Parents who are affected by domestic abuse.
Over the next four years, the “Be Free” project will directly work with approximately 600 individuals who have experienced domestic abuse, helping them regain control of their lives and move forward with confidence. The project is designed to empower survivors to make positive choices, offering practical tools and resources that foster long-term recovery.
Key goals of the ‘Be Free’ project include:
- Empowerment: Equipping individuals with the skills and support to make positive, long-term decisions for their personal and emotional well-being.
- Support Networks: Facilitating the development of strong, sustainable support systems for individuals affected by domestic abuse.
- Mental Health Improvement: Providing resources and guidance to improve mental health outcomes, fostering resilience and emotional stability.
Thanks to The National Lottery’s generosity, the project will contribute to PAC’s broader mission of tackling homelessness, domestic abuse, and poor mental health within the community.
