Parenting can be hard, especially when your child or teen is struggling with their emotional wellbeing or mental health and/or has additional challenges of neuro diversity. But you don’t have to face this alone.

PAC Evolve run groups as part of project know as Peer Advice to Transform Health and wellbeing (PATH)

PATH is for any parent or carer supporting children and young people experiencing:

  • Anxiety
  • Panic attacks
  • Emotion regulation struggles and behaviour
  • Low mood and depression
  • Self-harming behaviours
  • EBSA -anxiety around school or attendance struggles
  • Sleep problems and nightmares
  • Obsessions and compulsions (OCD-type behaviours)
  • Neurodevelopmental differences and associated challenges

Even if you are not sure if your child is struggling with the above but feel they may be struggling emotionally right now, we are here.

What are the benefits of Parental Peer support?

  • Advice from other parents who truly understand as they are going through the same, or have been through it and come out the other side.
  • No judgement as everyone is in a similar situation.
  • Reduce stress and feelings of isolation or feel like coping alone
  • Build confidence in your abilities to deal with these struggles.
  • New friendships
  • Improvements in your own wellbeing and resilience.

These sessions are not therapy or parenting classes, just a chance to chat with parents like you. More information and advice can be offered by our peer support worker if you need it.

Parents can attend either one of our informal peer support groups at community venues across East Lancashire, or our online sessions. Or if you don’t yet feel ready for a group or just prefer you can arrange a one-to-one session with our Peer support worker Helen

No need to book or be referred just attend a session or email Helen.Tyrer@p-a-c.org.uk
