Positive Action in the Community (PAC) proudly announces it has been awarded the Not For Profit Award at the 2025 Pendle Business Awards, held in July at the glamorous Fence Gate. The recognition underscores PAC’s positive impact on the local community over the past year.

The annual Pendle Business Awards, a highlight in the regional calendar, saw local business leaders, finalists, and esteemed guests gather for an evening of celebration and recognition. The dazzling event was meticulously organised by Rachel Kay and the dedicated team at Pendle Connects, with Pendle Borough Council serving as the distinguished Headline Sponsor.

This year’s awards featured 42 finalists vying for honours across 15 categories, ranging from ‘Apprentice of the Year’ to accolades for businesses of all sizes, including the newly introduced ‘Pendle Innovation Award’ for 2025.

PAC was a strong contender in the ‘Not For Profit Award’ category, which celebrates a charity or non-profit organisation that has demonstrated exceptional positive influence within Pendle over the last 12 months. PAC stood alongside fellow commendable finalists, Stage Door Youth Theatre and Community Arts by ZK.

The tension in the room was palpable as Vena Reid from Pendle Business Improvement District (BID) took to the stage to announce the winner. A wave of applause erupted as PAC was declared the recipient of the Not for Profit Award sponsored by Colne BID.

Claire Bennett, CEO of PAC, accepted the award with immense gratitude. Reflecting on the evening, she commented, “This event is truly special. Beyond the glitz and glamour, it serves as a vital platform to recognise Pendle businesses, which are undeniably the lifeblood of both our economy and our community. Here at PAC, we are deeply honoured to be recognised in such a meaningful way, especially as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of SafeSpace Pendle, our pioneering Youth Homelessness Accommodation project in Nelson. This award is a testament to the enduring dedication of our team and the incredible support of the Pendle community.”
