PAC and its services exists for the pure purpose of improving people’s lives through the creation of safety, security and opportunities for aspirational and fulfilled lives. Key to achieving this is connectivity, belonging and being part of our community. Such acts that have happened in the last week and over the weekend is a direct threat to us being able to provide this opportunity to our service users. I want to be very clear about our position on this – we stand against any form of oppression and discrimination in our society. The riots, attacks and incessant inhumanity is simply not acceptable. PAC does not accept behaviour that shatters the safety and sanctuary of people, both directly and indirectly. We believe that such behaviour intends to be destructive to our society, people and beliefs and only breeds hate, our response to this is one of solidarity, increasing awareness and education. In the face of adversity, we are thankful to see and be part of a community that rises against such devastation, and take solace and confidence in discovering even more strength and resilience in our community, that often we didn’t know we had.
