This was an award chosen by the judges in recognition that Pendle Action for the Community ‘has shown great-spirit, character, courage, strength, patience, and above all else, sacrificing their own needs before others’.
Speaking on behalf of the company, Charity Manager, Claire Bennett said: “we are absolutely overwhelmed and ecstatic at our recent news and success. We pride ourselves on delivering high quality, young person focused support for those who most need it and being awarded two contracts to allow us to continue to do this is just fantastic and incredibly exciting. We were also astounded at the recent North West E3 awards night. We had attended the event as we had been shortlisted as finalist for the Social Enterprise of the year, but we actually won the Special Achievement Award! It was a complete surprise as we didn’t know that we had even been shortlisted by the judges for this award. The awards night had been such an amazing night, with lots of fantastic businesses and social enterprises, and winning this final special award was just unbelievable, it is a real credit and acknowledgement of the Charity trustees, staff and the support they offer through the projects managed by the charity, as well as an accolade to the charity sector as a whole to be recognised within the business awards arena for the North West”
