On the 27th June 2015 a team representing SafeSpace, PDVI and Lookout will be running the Leeds Total Warrior course to raise money for Christmas Activities. You can sponsor us here.
We would like to thank everyone at Brierfield Liberal Club who raised over £900 for PVDI in memory of Jane Clough at their Two Day karaoke Extravaganza event on October 18th and 19th 2014. Jane’s parent’s John and Penny Cough from Barrowford, opened and closed the event on both days in memory of the 26 year old daughter who was stabbed 71 times at Blackpool Victoria Hospital where she worked, by her ex-partner Jonathan Vass in July 2010.
A huge number of people took part in the event and Pendle Action for the Community Trustee, Andrew Dewhurst was proud to accept a cheque on behalf of PDVI.
Since Jane’s death John and Penny have set up ‘Justice for Jane’ which campaigns to raise awareness and make changes, in particular to the law and justice system, to improve safety for victims and accountability for perpetrators. Recent campaigns have been to set up a stalker’s register similar to the sex offender’s register, and for employers to introduce workplace domestic violence policies.
