Positive Action in the Communities Launch 21 Campaign for Homelessness and Domestic Abuse

Have you seen our posters?

Last night our team battled the cold to lay some very emotive posters down for the launch of our 21 campaign. We placed 21 posters in high footfall areas across the borough, including; Barnoldswick, Earby, Colne, Nelson, Barrowford, Rawtenstall and Bacup!

The campaign signifies our 21st year of supporting adults and children affected by Domestic Abuse and Young People experiencing homelessness. More recently we have began to offer support to those with Emotion Health and Wellbeing difficulties.

Through this campaign we would like to raise money to support our vital, and sometimes, life line services to some of the most vulnerable people in our community. We also want people to recognise homelessness not just as an inner city problem, but also an issue that hits rural areas as well.

Homelessness affects hundreds of young people in East Lancashire every single year. Most people in the areas we serve won’t even realise the problem with youth homelessness, yet we’re providing accommodation for 33 young people at any one time. That is not to mention the ever growing waiting list for people seeking help. It’s about getting people to realise this is an issue happening right under their noses, this isn’t just a Manchester problem and it’s one that can affect anyone, regardless of age or background.

We would love for our campaign to be spread far and wide, and hopefully reach our JustGiving target of £1000!
